The Brockville Museum offers a variety of programs geared to an adult audience throughout the year.  These include workshops, tours and seminars on a range of topics.

History Talks: Second Thursday of the month at 2pm

(Formerly Talk & Tea) Explore Brockville’s fascinating social and industrial history with the museum’s Community Program Coordinator on the second Thursday of the month at 2pm, featuring a different topic each month. Talks last about 45 minutes. Participants are encouraged to share their own stories and ask questions. $5/person (+HST). Includes tea.

New: Advance reservations are recommended as capacity is limited. If you would like to reserve your seat in advance, please contact the museum by phone (613-342-4397) or drop by during business hours. A non-refundable (unless canceled by the museum) payment of $5 + HST ($5.65) is required at time of booking. Credit card payment can be made over the phone. Reservations can only be made for the upcoming History Talk (for example, we will only accept reservations for the May History Talk after the April History Talk). 

History Talks can also be delivered as a private program for groups at a time and location convenient to you. Please review our “Book a History Talk” page for details.

  • March 14: Brockville Newspapers (1821-1917)
  • April 11: Our American Neighbours – Brockville’s Relationships with Morristown and America
  • May 9: How Fires have shaped Brockville Streetscapes
  • June 13: Ship Spotting on the St. Lawrence River with guest speaker Viktor Kaczkowski – SOLD OUT
  • July 11: Summer Sports in Brockville
  • August 15: Brockville’s Dairy Industry – note date change
  • September 12: Weaving Community with the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum with guest speaker Michael Rikley-Lancaster
  • Michael Rikley-Lancaster will introduce guests to the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum. Highlighting such things as the building, accomplishments, the history, and the community it represents. Michael will also present quilts from the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum’s permanent collection.
  • October 10: Brockville Crimes & Criminals
  • November 14: Blitz Magazine
  • Blitz magazine was created by the officers at the Officers Training Centre in Brockville during the Second World War. The Blitz covered everything from military tactics to war poetry to military humour. The Brockville Museum has an extensive collection of these magazines in their archives. They provide a fascinating glimpse into everyday life for the officers who came through Brockville.
