Assistant Collections Technician (YCW Internship) – apply online by Wednesday May 14, 2025
- Under the supervision of the museum Collections Coordinator, the Assistant Collections Technician will conduct an inventory of objects stored in an offsite warehouse, help organize the space, assess object condition, photograph, and catalogue objects using the museum’s online Collections Management System (MINISIS).

Candidates must demonstrate superior attention to detail, comfort navigating Windows operating system and Microsoft Word and Excel, comfort working independently, and problem solving and critical thinking skills. Candidates must be able to perform medium physical labour, including lifting and carrying objects and boxes weighing up to 40 pounds and demonstrate a commitment to adhering to health and safety practices.

As this position requires regular travel between the museum and its off-site storage facility (a distance of 2.2 kilometres), a valid ‘G’ Driver’s License and ability to provide own transportation is required (mileage will be reimbursed).

Must meet Young Canada Works Building Careers in Heritage criteria, including being a recent graduate under the age of 30.
