The Brockville Museum introduces visitors to the rich and dynamic history of Ontario’s oldest incorporated town through exhibits, talks, and tours. Join us to explore Brockville’s unique industrial heritage, fascinating stories of wealth and power, vibrant waterfront transformation, and passionate citizens’ contributions to community and culture. Museum Self-Guided Tour

A self-guided visit to the museum’s exhibition galleries for groups of 8-60. After a brief introduction, let your group explore Brockville’s history at their leisure. Docents will be posted throughout the galleries to answer questions and discuss displays. A great way to give your group a break and allow for a self-directed experience. Allow approximately 45 minutes. All galleries are accessible.​

Thematic History Talk

A 45-minute dynamic slide-show presentation featuring archival images and unique stories from Brockville’s past. Choose from one of dozens of available topics. Talks can be delivered at your venue or at the museum​.

      • At your venue: $50 flat rate (20% discount available to non-profits; mileage surcharge may apply for delivery outside city limits).

Walking Tour

​Explore Brockville’s unique and fascinating history with one of our walking tours. Led by a professional museum guide, discover how Brockville’s geography, industrial past, and people have shaped this riverfront community. Approximately 90 minutes in length. Available for groups of 1-30.

Discover some of the fascinating history surrounding this unique landmark in a casual stroll along Brockville’s dynamic waterfront. Approx. 1.5 km loop.

Exploring the Brock Trail
Discover how the past connects with the present along the southern section of Brockville’s urban multi-purpose trail (and former railbed). Approx. 2.5 km one-way.
Highlights include: Brockville’s Railway History, Brockville’s Industrial History, and Canada’s Oldest Railway Tunnel*.

Wealth & Leisure: Hartley Street and St. Lawrence Park
Explore stories about wealthy industrialists and politicians who made their homes on Hartley Street and learn about the development of one of Brockville’s most beautiful green spaces, St. Lawrence Park. Approx. 1.5 km one-way.

Iconic Brockville: Courthouse Avenue and Courthouse Green
Take a walk around one of Brockville’s most recognizable streets, captured in postcards and photographs (and a Netflix Holiday movie), to learn the fascinating stories behind some of our city’s familiar monuments and landmarks. Approx. 1 km loop.

Walking through Memories: Brockville’s Cemeteries
Stroll through Brockville’s picturesque cemeteries to explore topics of urban development, health and sanitation, the process of remembering, and evolving concepts of spirituality. Approx. 2 km loop (note: uneven terrain).

Step-On Guide, City Tour

You supply the bus, we supply the guide! Let one of our docents guide your bus through Brockville’s history. We will highlight some of Brockville’s most notable landmarks and share the stories of the people who have called this place home. A great way to introduce your group to Brockville’s rich past from the comfort of your bus. Approximately 90 minutes in length.​
