Curator: Natalie Wood
Natalie has been with the Brockville Museum since early 2013. Before that, she spent five years at the Old Stone Mill National Historic Site in Delta. Her previous museum experience also includes the MacLachlan Woodworking Museum, the Pump House Steam Museum, and the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes at Kingston. She has an Honours Degree in History from Queen’s University, a Certificate in Museum Studies, a Certificate in Municipal Administration, and a Professional Specialization Certificate in Visitor and Community Engagement from the University of Victoria. At the Brockville Museum she manages the development of exhibitions and is responsible for the daily operation and administration of the museum.
Community Program Coordinator: Alice McMurtry
Alice McMurtry joined the Brockville Museum team in the summer of 2022. She has extensive museum experience, having worked at the Royal Ontario Museum, the Ontario Heritage Trust, the City of Toronto History Museums, the Bata Shoe Museum, Black Creek Pioneer Village, and other cultural institutions across the province. She holds a Master’s in Museum Studies and an Honours BA in History and English Literature from the University of Toronto. As the Community Program Coordinator, she develops public and educational programs for a range of audiences.
Collections Coordinator: Veronica Vareiro
Veronica joined the Brockville Museum team in 2019. She started her museum training in 2010 as a volunteer Gallery Interpreter at the Royal Ontario Museum for 5 years. She went on to graduate with an Honours Double Major Degree in History and Humanities from York University and completed a Graduate Certificate in Museum and Gallery Studies from Georgian College. She gained extensive experience working with museum collections and archival documents with a focus on preventive conservation at the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre in Rossland, British Columbia. As the Collections Coordinator she oversees the care and management of the museum’s collection, liaises with donors, and handles administrative and financial responsibilities.
Visitor Services Attendants: Tina, Michelle, Rachel, Patrick, Viktor, Evan, and Jean
Visitor Services Attendants greet museum visitors and carry out reception desk responsibilities, including providing tourist information to visitors. They also carry-out special projects, including supporting work on the Open Drawer Project. They are dedicated to ensuring the best possible visitor experience.
