Share these terms and conditions with all group leaders. • Capacity limits: All programs are designed for groups of 20 to 30 students. • A ratio of 1:10 adults to children is a required minimum. • Please contact the museum if you are expecting to arrive earlier or later than the scheduled program start time. o Late arrivals are subject to a shorter version of the scheduled program but will be billed in full. o Groups arriving more than 30 minutes late, or not at all, without making alternative arrangements with the Brockville Museum, will be considered “no shows” and forfeit the scheduled program, but will be billed for the full amount less deposit. • Cancellations received less than two days (48 hours) notice will be billed at 50% less deposit. • The Brockville Museum reserves the right to require minimums or maximums for any scheduled program. • The Brockville Museum reserves the right to end or cancel a program at any time if staff feel there is a threat to their personal safety, or to the safety of other visitors, the museum, and/or the museum’s collection. The booking party will be charged in full. • Participants are expected to follow the direction of the museum staff and participate in the program to the best of their ability. • Teachers and supervisors may be asked to assist with handing out supplies and facilitating participation in the program. • Participants will not climb on or otherwise touch exhibits and artifacts. • Participants will not bring any outside technology, toys, games, or books to the museum. • Groups should come prepared to participate in the booked program, including, but not limited to, being dressed for the weather if the program takes place outdoors. • Discipline is the responsibility of the teachers and supervisors throughout the museum visit, NOT of museum staff. Teachers and supervisors are expected to remedy behavioral issues as they arise. Behavioral issues include but are not limited to: ignoring direction of museum staff; horseplay; disruptive behavior (running, shouting, etc.); use of abusive/aggressive/demeaning language, and damage to museum property. These activities will not be tolerated. If order cannot be reasonably restored, the group will be asked to leave the museum. (A refund will not be issued). • A custodial surcharge of $25 will be applied if there is found to be unreasonable damage or mistreatment of the museum facility or property. • The Brockville Museum will follow the lead of the Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO) regarding inclement weather. If school buses are cancelled, assume that the program is cancelled. In the event of such a cancellation, the booking party will not be charged, and every effort will be made to provide an opportunity to reschedule. • If museum staff need to cancel the program for any reason not outlined above, no fee will be charged. Assumption of Risk(Required) We understand that we must accept full responsibility for the risks, dangers and hazards that we are assuming by participating in this program. These risks, dangers and hazards may include slips and falls, head injury, broken limbs, allergic reactions, cuts and scrapes. We freely accept and fully assume all of the risks, dangers and hazards, and the possibility of personal injury, death and property damage or loss resulting from participation in the program.
